Tinted Glass is produced by the float process with the addition of small quantities of metal oxides to color the normal clear glass mix. This coloration is achieved through adding metal oxides at the smelting stage. Addition of color does not affect the basic properties of the glass, even though visible light reflectance will be slightly higher than clear glass.
Reflective Glass has a special coating that makes it possible to see out, while preventing people from seeing in, to preserve privacy during the day. It can be used as spandrel glass to hide building mechanicals like computer wires and vents. In addition to aesthetic appeal, it balances light transmittance, making rooms more comfortable and reducing cooling costs through solar energy interception.
