Tempered glass (Toughened Glass) is much harder than normal glass and does not shatter into large shards when broken. It is safety glass and manufactured through a process of extreme heating and rapid cooling. Through the material tempering principle, when the glass rises close to the softening state and is instantly cooled, it creates a tempered stress layer inside. This increases surface pressure and impact resistance. Broken particles are roughly the size of corn kernels, posing basically no harm to the human body.
Tempered glass is essential in environments where standard glass could pose a potential danger.
