Product Description
Extra Ultra Clear Laminated Tempered Glass Curved Bent Laminating Toughened Low Iron Glass 4mm-19mm
Tempered Glass is made by heating flat glass to just below its softening temperature (650 °c) and suddenly chilling it with jets of cold air. It results in the outer skins under powerful compressive stress and the interior with severe tensile stress. This makes the glass ideal for areas with high wind loads and areas where human contact safety is an important consideration.
Curved Tempered Glass is processed into a softening point by a specific mold and equipment. It has four times the bending and impact resistance of normal glass. When broken, it splits into small, uniform particles that are not easy to injure.
Main Features
- 5 times harder than ordinary float glass, stronger resistance to thermal breakage.
- Disintegrates into small cubical fragments upon breakage, minimizing injury risks.
- Withstands abrupt temperature changes of up to 220 Centigrade.
- Customized sizes produced as per request.
Toughened Laminated Glass
Toughened Laminated Glass involves bonding two pieces of glass together with an interlayer. After the glass breaks, fragments remain bonded to the plastic interlayer (PVB or SGP), preventing splashes and injuries.
Laminated Glass Benefits
- High Safety: PVB film sticks broken pieces firmly to prevent falling.
- Energy Saving: Reduces solar light transmittance effectively.
- Sound Control: PVB interlayer is an effective absorber of sound waves.
- UV Screening: Filters out ultraviolet rays to protect furniture and curtains.
Frequently Asked Questions
What are the main advantages of tempered glass over normal glass?
Tempered glass is approximately 5 times harder than ordinary float glass and has significantly higher resistance to thermal breakage and physical impact.
Is laminated glass safe if it breaks?
Yes. Laminated glass fragments remain bonded to the plastic interlayer (PVB/SGP) after breakage, preventing pieces from falling and causing injury.
How long is the typical delivery time for orders?
Standard production and delivery usually take about three weeks after order confirmation. If items are in stock, it may be as fast as one week.
Can laminated glass help with noise reduction?
Yes, the PVB interlayer acts as an effective sound absorber, making it ideal for buildings near airports, railways, or busy roads.
What international quality certifications do your products hold?
Our glass products comply with Europe CE, USA SGCC/IGCC, UK BSI, France Cekal, and Australia CSI certificates.
Can tempered glass be cut to size after it has been toughened?
No, tempered glass must be cut and processed to the required size before the tempering process begins. Once tempered, it cannot be cut or modified.
